Last week, search giant Google removed its "Exact Size" filter from its image search. To date, no announcement, explanation or comment has been made as to why the decision has been made.
It would be logical to guess that the decision was made to help fight against Copyright fraud and webmasters simply taking images from its platform and claiming them as their own. If true, this will surely please image producers such as Shutterstock.
It is estimated that in access of 2 million cases of image property theft was launched in 2018, most of which involved search engines such as Google Images. Image size filters which are now available are Large, Medium and Icon.
