Disgraced Birmingham City Fan Guilty Of Assaulting Villa Captain

A Birmingham City fan was arrested yesterday after physically assaulting Aston Villa Captain Jack Grealish in the back of the head during the City-Villa match. Paul Mitchell, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of assault at Birmingham Magistrates Court.

I cannot help but feel how lucky I was in this incident. It could have so much worse had the supporter had some sort of weapon

Paul Mitchell hopped the barrier and ran out onto the pitch in front of thousands of supports and live TV to conduct the assault. He was immediately escorted off the pitch and was arrested by police. Fortunately, nobody suffered any injuries and Grealish went on to score the winning goal of the match.

Mitchell's family have expressed their embarrassment over his actions and have called him "A Disgrace."
